AT6 - FAQ

HOW DO I PURCHASE A TICKET FOR AT6?

Please go to the Registration page and follow the link.

CAN I USE A CREDIT CARD TO PAY FOR MY TICKET?

No. We no longer accept credit card payments. Payment for tickets must be made by direct bank transfer between 1st – 21st January 2012 or if you have a UK bank account, you can send us a UK pounds sterling cheque in the post. This must arrive by 21st January 2012. Any costs associated with the transfers must be borne by the ticket holder.
We recognise that even if you tell your bank to send the correct number of pounds and ask to pay all the charges yourself, that sometimes the transfers arrive short. If this happens do not worry. Registration will be in touch with you to let you know how much is outstanding and to arrange the remaining payment. Often this amount is small and a further transfer is not necessary so you can pay it when you check in for the event. Sorry, but we do not accept Pay pal for ticket sales, only pre-event merchandise sales.

HOW MUCH IS A WEEKEND TICKET AND WHAT IS INCLUDED IN IT?

A weekend Ticket for AT6 is £225 (including booking fee). We have tried to keep the ticket price to a minimum but hotel costs, flights and other associated costs have soared since AT5 and have meant that we have had to raise our price.
Your weekend ticket includes a reserved allocated seat for the entire weekend in the main hall, a professionally taken photograph with Amanda, two in-person autographs from Amanda, four Q & A sessions with Amanda, a fun filled Charity Auction benefiting Sanctuary for kids and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, a chance to enter a raffle for coffee with Amanda on the Sunday, other Hall based activities such as a Sanctuary Quiz, and entry to the Abnormals Ball on Saturday night.
The price of the ticket does not include your accommodation, subsistence or travel.

INFORMATION ABOUT REGISTRATION FOR AT6

Seating in the main hall will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The earlier you register for your ticket the further forward your seat will be. Please remember that if you want to sit together in the Main hall you MUST register together. We are not able to accommodate seating requests for large groups. If your group is successful in winning the lottery for Charmed passes, we will separately ask for any seating requests for the cocktail party only.
Completing on-line Pre -registration will be time-stamp based and the tickets are sold on a strictly first come, first served basis. No more than four tickets per application.
Completing on-line registration does not guarantee that you have been allocated a ticket, only that your request for a ticket has been sent to us. You will initially receive notice that we have received your application. Within 48 hours you should receive a message from Registration indicating if you have been allocated weekend tickets and been entered into the cocktail party lottery if you have requested to be entered.

CHARMED PASS UPGRADES

Charmed Pass Upgrade costs £105. There is a waiting list for these as all upgrades have already been allocated.

A Charmed Pass Upgrade gives you entry to the Friday evening Cocktail Party Dinner which includes a two course dinner with drink and the opportunity to chat to Amanda as she circulates and sits at each table for a while, talking to everyone, during the course of the Evening. These upgrades are very popular as it affords attendees a chance to talk to Amanda and their fellow tablemates in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.

Please note that we have a strict time limit on all payments.

HOW WILL SEATING IN THE MAIN HALL BE ALLOCATED?

The front two to three rows in the main hall are allocated for stewards. Following these, seating will be allocated on a first come first served basis in the order that people have pre-registered.

I want to sit with my friends, can we request that?

If you are purchasing tickets and wish to sit with friends in the main hall you MUST book together as a group. However you may on request all pay separately.

PRESS SEATING

Press personnel will be seated closer to the stage for photo opportunity reporting purposes, IF they contact GABIT in advance to ask permission to report on the event and are granted that permission by Julia in her capacity as Press Liaison. Press Personnel must have bought a weekend pass to be considered.
Seat placements are at the Directors' discretion and Press seating is extremely limited. An allocation of a Press seat does not entitle the holder to interviews with Amanda or any other special consideration.

WHEN CAN I BOOK MY ACCOMMODATION?

We have negotiated a special rate for attendees at the Renaissance Hotel.
Once your tickets have been paid for and confirmed you will be sent a booking code for accessing hotel bedrooms at the specially negotiated rate, to include Breakfast. Please use the code you are given and do not post it on forums. Anyone who has a ticket will be given the code and room rates.

IF I GET A TICKET AND THEN CANNOT ATTEND CAN I GET A REFUND?

All tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. To prevent scalping, the tickets are only for the person in whose name they were originally applied for and each person will be required to provide ID at Registration to collect their tickets. If you are not able to attend the event after you have paid for your tickets, please contact registration to discuss your issues and we will try and help you sell your ticket to the next person on the waiting list should a waiting list exist at the time.

EVENT ETIQUETTE

Attendees are NOT permitted to approach or go onto the stage at any time. Please don't ask Amanda for hugs etc, it robs everyone else of time for their questions and is unfair.
Mobile phones must be switched off in the main hall and auto/photo session rooms.
No Audio or Video recording is allowed during the event. If you are found to be recording by our eagle eyed stewards you will be asked to stop. Further abuse of this rule may result in expulsion from the Event.
We expect attendees to adhere to these simple rules but reserve the right to impose sanctions which, in an extreme case, may include expulsion from the event. No refund would be made in this instance.
Any attendee who makes a nuisance of him/herself during one of our Events or breaks any of our simple rules will not be allowed to purchase tickets for another Event.
We reserve the right to refuse to sell a ticket to any person who we feel would disrupt the Event or cause discomfort to a guest or member of staff in any way.

I WANT TO BE A STEWARD

We pride ourselves on having probably the best Stewarding team that there is and treating them like family. We receive dozens of offers of help for every convention that we do. However, unlike other Convention organisers we approach people that we know from our years on the Convention circuit rather than call for volunteers. For the most part our team comes year after year to our Events, but there are odd times when gaps need filling because someone couldn't come. If you have a burning desire to help out at the Event then you are welcome to drop our Stewards Coordinator, Tracy North, a line at stewards@gabitevents.co.uk. She will note your details and put them on file should we need help.

I WANT TO DONATE SOMETHING TO HELP WITH FUNDRAISING AT AT6

We welcome donations of fan memorabilia, signed items etc to our fundraising efforts. It is the generosity of the fans which help to make the auctions and fund raising activities so successful in raising money for such worthwhile causes. Please contact Rebecca Ford at Headofcharity@gabitevents.co.uk to check if the item is suitable for fundraising at AT6.
Gabit Events warrants that 100% of monies raised at the auction and through fund raising activities at AT6 will be taken directly by representatives from Hearing Dogs on that weekend or paid via credit card on the internet directly to the "Sanctuary for kids" website or forwarded to "Sanctuary for kids" immediately after the Event. No administration costs are ever taken by GABIT Events in connection with any of our fundraising activities.

WHERE CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT AT6?

Please in the first instance check the Event FAQ above. If you don't find what you are looking for, please e-mail asktheG4@gabitevents.co.uk and someone will respond to you within 24 hours. Please do not use PM systems on forums or DM systems on Twitter, or e-mail individual directors, staff members with general questions as this makes it very difficult for you to get the correct information quickly. The above e-mail is monitored by more than one person so you will get the right response from the right person.

WHO ARE GABIT AND THE G4?

The G4 are the directors of GABIT Events Limited. ie Julia Hague, Becky Preen, Kay Jacobs and John Goode. In September 2002 they formed their own company, GABIT Events Ltd, with the intention of bringing Amanda Tapping to London for her own event with her own fans.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO THEY HAVE IN RUNNING CONVENTIONS?

The G4 are an experienced conference and convention organising team, with over 50 years of combined experience. They specialise in Events for Amanda Tapping and her fans and in raising money for causes close to Amanda's heart. Their first Event with Amanda, "Amanda Tapping a weekend with her fans", in October 2005 was a huge success, raising nearly £6000 for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. "AT2 – the Return", in November 2006, Amanda's second event with GABIT, raised over £24,000 for the same charity. "AT3 – Reunion", in May 2008, the third event with Amanda, raised over £21,000 for both Hearing Dogs and Waterkeeper Alliance. "AT4 – Reflections", a sold out Event, in November 2009 raised over £16,000 for Sanctuary for kids and £8,000 for Hearing Dogs with Legends Memorabilia pledging the extra £2000 to enable the money to be made up so that another two dogs can be installed in the Gabit Kennel.
In addition, GABIT were asked to run "Avalon" in 2006, Carmargue Event's weekend for fans of Richard Dean Anderson and Amanda Tapping, which took place a week after "AT2".
In the summer of 2010, GABIT joined forces with Legends Memorabilia in Vancouver, Canada to hold the world's first official Sanctuary convention, the Sanctuary Experience. A staggering $90,500 CA was raised by just 220 Sanctuary fans for Sanctuary for kids. Astounding.
The following weekend Legends Memorabilia in conjunction with Gabit brought Richard Dean Anderson together with 350 of his own fans at his first one man event, Meet the Man. Again, an amazing amount of money, $100,000 CA was raised for SSCS.

February 2011 saw the sold out AT5 raise an amazing £45,000. £30,000 for Sanctuary for kids and £15,000 for Hearing Dogs. The newest addition to the Gabit Kennel, Cassie, was born in May 2011.
AT6 is their sixth event with Amanda and is once again raising money for Sanctuary for kids and Hearing Dogs. We have very high hopes!
